Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #8

June 13, 2019 By //  by Xander

I’ve read dozens of books on the subject. It should work better.

As a coach I’ve visited thousands of people in their private homes and have admired their extensive law of attraction book collections. My impression from fifteen years of visiting people is that, the more books they have on the subject the less apt they were at it.

One could argue that that’s why they sought to read about it. But my impression is, they preferred reading about it to actually doing it. Applying the law of attraction requires a radical shift in your energy field. This shift does not come about through words. Books for some then become a substitute for actually learning this art. It’s like reading about architecture without actually designing a building. Application, practice, repetition, courage, and experience are the keys.

I have to agree with this assessment, although for different reasons.  My perception is that people use reading about it as a way to postpone or put off doing it.  The next book will have an easier way. I don’t understand it well enough, reading a few more books will fill in the gaps.  I know I have done this myself.  I typically feel as if I don’t have enough knowledge to start.  I will read and read and read, looking for that one piece of information that will make it “click.”  It is rare that anything actually does.  I have also learned that it is difficult even to know what you are looking for without having experience.

You can’t possibly know what you are looking for without experiencing something.  So you read ten books on manifestation, and you haven’t managed to manifest anything but a smaller bank account.  My guess is you haven’t tried.  You went through the motions, but you probably didn’t do what is required.  You have conflicting information in those books and aren’t sure what to do or how to do it.  The truth is most of those books are BS.  They have grains of truth in them, but most of them are designed to sell books or courses, not to get you anywhere.  They are oversimplified or overly complicated.  They leave out significant steps along the path.  Some are just such total BS that you would be better off using them for fuel in the fireplace.

The real truth is, manifestation isn’t hard.  Getting clear enough to be able to do it is very hard.  Some people get lucky, and it works, maybe once, maybe more than that.  I don’t have an explanation for that.  The rest of us aren’t as gifted, and we have to work for ours.  So stop only reading and start doing.  I recommend starting with meditation to learn focus, but it doesn’t matter where you start, just start.

Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #7

June 12, 2019 By //  by Xander

Everything is only a belief.

No, it’s not. Reality is a mixture of the objective, which is Universal absolute, and the subjective which is relative and a matter of belief. How to discern the two is an art one can learn and utilize. Thus certain medicine or drugs work whether you believe in them or not.

You have a third eye behind your forehead whether you believe you do or not. There is an infinite field of energy whether you believe it or not. Your disbelief might cause you to not see those things but that does not mean they don’t exist if you quit believing in them.

Belief goes a long way, you can create a fantastic life with belief work. But that does not mean no other factors influence your experience.

Source:
Reality Creation and Manifestation – Frederick Dodson

I think this statement is basically correct.  I do see that sometimes things that you believe in don’t work and this statement doesn’t really take those into account.  There are times when that medicine that usually works doesn’t work for no explainable reason.  So Fred’s thoughts I don’t believe one hundred percent.

In support of his statement, I can say that believing in something makes a huge difference.  We see it over and over in the placebo effect from drug trials.  Actually, the placebo effect in drug trials is becoming so strong that it is skewing results.  The medical community is trying to figure out what to do about this.  Belief matters a lot, but it isn’t everything.  There are some things we just can’t stop.  No matter how hard you try, you won’t stop the sun from rising and setting.

In contrast, some things exist even if you don’t believe in them.  The world is roundish, sorry flat earther’s but it is true.  The world isn’t hollow, although there are voids.  Some things just are and don’t require your belief for them to be.

Where this principle really comes in handy is as you progress up the scale of energy.  As you learn, you believe in things you once did not.  The belief in some of these things is quite useful in manifestation.  I think of it more like an advanced education.  You learn in a regular school that the earth is round and people live and die.  In advanced training, you learn that life isn’t only living and dying, and the earth is round, but there is much more to it than that.

Once you learn, really learn, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience things change, dramatically.  Once you learn that the earth is alive and aware, things change, dramatically.  With this knowledge, manifestation takes on a different level.  Your ability to manifest is stronger because you are focusing more on the possible.  What you manifest is different because the things that were important at one time, no longer are.

One of my points in making these posts is to help people raise their consciousness level.  Most of the planet is living at a level below 200, many people below 100.  The low energy frequencies I believe are contributing to our overall society being so crappy right now.  If I can assist in raising someone’s consciousness level just a little, then I have helped the planet, and that is my goal.  We all want to leave a legacy behind us.  I want to leave one that is a higher frequency than it would have been had I not tried.

Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #6

June 11, 2019 By //  by Xander

I’m looking for the right method.

The law of attraction is not a “method”. It is a principle that occurs all the time. You can’t escape it because its happening 24 hours a day, non-stop.

By the law of attraction, the attitude you radiate comes back to you. If you do not address your overall attitude and inner beliefs it doesn’t really matter what method you use. None of them will work. If, on the other hand, you are aligned you are your true self. Almost any method will work.

Source:
Reality Creation and Manifestation – Frederick Dodson

This one is pretty self-explanatory.  Your attitude is everything.  If you believe it is possible, then it is.  That doesn’t mean there won’t be work involved, but it is possible.

One thing to caution about here is if you are living in anger and resentment and you set a goal of becoming a “Buddha”… well, that might take a lot of work.  There are interim steps required, and setting a goal that far ahead is an excellent way to end up discouraged.  Try baby steps to start with.  Build slowly, and your confidence and ability will grow.  Reaching for too much too fast isn’t healthy mentally, although it is a great aspiration.  Be reasonable in your desires and expectations.

Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #5

June 10, 2019 By //  by Xander

If it is not easy to achieve its not the right path for me.

One one level that is true because what comes natural to you is who you really are. On a higher level of understanding the statement reveals the resistance toward effort.

From this stronger place, effort and difficulty are not seen as such because no judgement or resistance was built up toward various realities of life. So improve your state but don’t become someone who avoids challenges at all costs. The joy of life is to use your focus to overcome and transcend challenge.

Source:
Reality Creation and Manifestation – Frederick Dodson

What comes naturally to you is who you are.  It means you should focus on those areas that come naturally.  What this doesn’t mean is to avoid work and challenges.

If you find yourself resistant to effort then you are approaching this law from a lower energy level.  When you raise your frequency resistance to effort eases and the work becomes more joyful.

Nothing in life comes without effort, and raising your frequency is not an exception.  It takes time and practice to learn to focus your thoughts and energy.  The more you practice the easier it gets and it seems the less effort you have to put into it.  You might even begin to enjoy it.  It is a joy in life to use your focus to overcome and transcend challenges.  You might have to trust me on this one until you get there.

To me the point of this rule is that you shouldn’t put your energy and effort into a life purpose that doesn’t make your soul happy.  It is also about not avoiding the work to become the best person you can be.  Too often we get caught up in what society expects.  We think we should have that six figure salary.  We think we should have the Pinterest home and family.  We think we should drive this car, or wear these clothes.  That life isn’t for everyone and it shouldn’t be.  The world would be a pretty boring place if we all had the life that popular culture tells us we should desire.

When you try to be something you aren’t it depletes your energy.  Leaving all that behind allows you to have the energy to focus on being the best person you can be.  The kinds of things that bring you joy don’t deplete you.  What I have found is that as I raise my energy level I have more energy to keep working toward the next one goal and some left over.  What would have been drudgery ten years ago I actually look forward to now.

Don’t resist the effort.  Inertia is difficult to break and it will take effort on your part.  That doesn’t mean you are on the wrong path.  That still quiet voice inside you will guide you to the right path.  Learn to listen to it.  Meditation is the tool that has helped me the most.

I will write about meditation later.  There are techniques to use that will work for just about anyone.  Our western minds don’t always take easily to more eastern meditation methods.  A more active meditation technique has worked for me and it might work for you.  Check back later for more information on this.

Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #4

June 7, 2019 By //  by Xander

Feeling good is the most important thing. Your overall state is an important thing. First, fix your state before you try to fix the external world.

That’s a good and workable principle to live by. The misunderstanding comes with people who think they have to get a fix of excitement all the time in order to manifest or feel good. Life comes in waves, and it is not advisable to try to stay “high” all the time. More often it’s the way you handle lows that reveals your true overall state. It’s not all about the temporary states you have. You attract into your life what you radiate the most. Feeling good is important but its not the most important thing.

I’ve seen a lot of people accomplish fantastic things because they didn’t feel good. They were hungry and seeking a higher feeling. They used this dissatisfaction to manifest something. So there is merit to feeling good and not feeling good. Each has its own purpose.

Source:
Reality Creation and Manifestation – Frederick Dodson

At one time in my life I lived by the need for a fix of excitement. I can honestly say it was fun and I learned a lot. That state does have its appeal. I can also honestly state that it lost its appeal when I examined it more closely. The constant need for more and more to get the same “high” got old and unsustainable. I realized that I had lost the ability to appreciate and enjoy the more mundane aspects of life. Simple things like the beauty of a sunrise or the laughter of a child held no real spark for me. It came to me that although happy, it wasn’t at a deep level and if I really wanted to be that happy person I needed to get rid of my addiction to being “high”.

The manifestation state comes from who you are inside, not at the surface. So using the energy I got from all the excitement honestly got me very little progress. Where the power derives from, is who you are inside, on a deeper level. All that excitement I craved was actually a really clever and fun way to mask that I didn’t really like myself very much. I didn’t really think I had much to offer anyone else or society if I wasn’t the thrill seeker or the “bad boy”. You know the type. In my day it was the leather jacket wearing, motorcycle riding, laissez-faire type that partied all the time and did really outrageous things. It sure got the girls but it had no deeper meaning or purpose and I knew it.

There is a long story here about how I turned that around but I won’t get into that. It is much too involved for a short blog post. Suffice it to say that I had a “Come to Jesus” meeting with a higher power. It wasn’t Jesus but “Come to the Field” meeting just doesn’t hold the same image. I was lucky that I was given a vision and reason to change. Hopefully, I can save someone from having to go where I did to get that.

Who you are inside, deep down where you don’t want to look is where you manifest from. It is also who you are on the spiritual plane. It is who you really are. Using thrills, parties, drugs or alcohol to prevent you from looking there isn’t helping you and most of you know that. If you really want to manifest your destiny you have to change yourself at your core. Once that change is made then you really do “feel good” and things begin to happen.

This process of change is life long and I don’t know if you ever actually get there, I know I haven’t yet. I also know that the people I have talked to who say they have … they haven’t really looked lately. The bright side to this is you cross a point where happiness, true happiness becomes the norm instead of the exception. You honestly do feel good at an emotional level. You are no longer afraid to look deep inside. I am not saying what you find there is always something you are happy about, but you aren’t afraid to look. This is where you, become you and the magic begins.

Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #3

June 6, 2019 By //  by Xander

You can get anything you want.

The reality is want creates lack. Life is not about getting and accumulating stuff. It is about what you GIVE. What you put out, or give, is what you get back.

Giving to get something back isn’t it either. It is giving for the joy of it, without ego involved. Ego is always drowning in fear and lack. The soul is into giving. So the actual premise is, You can get anything you give. To be even more precise, you attract things not according to what you want, but according to who you are.

Source:
Reality Creation and Manifestation – Frederick Dodson

In our time it seems that people understand this premise at a superficial level. We give to charity, we tithe, we do things that make us feel better about ourselves. We rarely actually give from our heart and soul. Case in point, all the thoughts, and prayers thrown around for any number of tragic events happening in our world. It is great to send thoughts and prayers, people experiencing tragedy can use positive energy. They also need more and to be honest most of those thoughts and prayers are empty.

If you want people to be there for you, then you need to be there for them. Without expecting anything from it. Just do it because it feels good to you. No judgment, no fixing, nothing but just be there. If you want money, give money. No boasting, no posting about how much you gave, no expecting to direct where the money you gave is used, just give it. If you want love, give it. Give real love, not the kind that has expectations or caveats, just pure love. Love as only love, just as they are, or as it is. This isn’t the kind of love that fixes someone, it is just love.

I also feel obligated to throw in at this point, that if love is what you seek, start at home. Start with yourself. Learn to love yourself just as you are, no fixing or judging, just love who you are. If you can’t do that, then perhaps you need to work on what you don’t love until you can. I don’t mean lose a few pounds or get a facelift. I mean learn to love you just as you are. See your own beauty, your own unique contribution. Develop inner kindness for yourself. From that place, kindness and love for others comes more easily.

This love yourself as you are could be a rabbit hole, and I won’t let myself go there, this isn’t a self-help post in that way. I will say that allowing society to tell you what is beautiful is a merry go round that is difficult to get off of. Recognize it for what it is, the attempt to sell you something through guilt. Once you see it for what it is, it is easier to step off the ride.

Giving on a superficial level is easy, when you move to the level of your soul and heart it becomes much more difficult. It is easier if you find something that is meaningful to you and give there. Give of yourself, give of your time, give of your money, give your unique gifts to the world in what ever way is heartfelt to you. It will come back. The well of your kindness, love, and compassion will not run out, so give freely without expectation, caveats or desire for recognition. Give without ego.

The ego is what gets us in trouble. It is always lacking and living in fear. When you exist within ego you generate more lack and fear. Remove the ego and you can truly get anything you want. I think you might find that what you want changes as well, but we won’t get into that now. The place to start is to just give from your heart. Start with yourself if you need to, it will grow and expand in time to include others. With that giving, you will find that you receive much more than you give and it becomes easier. I tend to ask myself questions when I think about giving. I ask things like, why am I doing this? Do I expect anything in return? What part of me is the desire to give coming from? Is this my ego talking? Sit in true silence and listen to yourself. The answers to those questions are there, and they are honest if we really listen. Don’t lie to yourself. You know the truth. If the answers aren’t what you wish they were, well there is a good place to start some self-examination and work.

I will now put in a warning for people who have tendencies as I do. Giving of yourself until you have nothing left for you isn’t healthy. You must have boundaries. Establishing healthy boundaries isn’t anything to feel guilty about. It is a must for your own health and wellbeing.
