Venus

Weekly Horoscope July 18th – 24th

July 16, 2021 By //  by Xander

We start out the week with Mercury sextile to Uranus beginning on the 16th. This aspect is all about new discoveries and new people. It assists in tackling old problems in a new way because you can see fresh solutions. You might find yourself starting the day with a plan, and ending up doing something completely different. Go with it, you could gain a new perspective from the experience.

A Social Moon

On the 19th the Moon moves into Sagittarius. This might make you feel social, and have the desire to go out into the public. Indecision could hinder your ability to make plans, but if you go it should be a good time.

Spotlight on the Needs of Others

On the 24th Mercury is trine Neptune. This stimulates the creative imagination, while also making you more sensitive to aspects of the world around you and the mood of others. Combine this with the Sun Neptune transit and we should have a period of time where the people of the world are paying attention to the needs of others. I hope that people take advantage of the opportunity.

Getting to the Bottom of It

The 25th brings Mercury in opposition to Pluto. This transit is good for getting to the bottom of a problem. Usually one involving two people. This combination also rules all kinds of propaganda and indoctrination. Someone or some group may try very hard to convince you of something that you would rather not accept. The trick in this is to discern if it is true or not.
The stars aren’t specific, but watch for news from certain groups. This transit is usually about power grabs. Keep an eye out for subtle or not so subtle power dynamic challenges. They could be personal or on a more global scale.

Reserved

The 21st brings the Moon into Capricorn. This could make your responses to others more reserved or distant. Capricorn doesn’t tend to have a touchy-feely quality. Establishing boundaries that are healthy and making sure you have shared objectives will allow more open contact with others.

Attention to Detail

The 21st thru August 16th Venus will be in Virgo. This is a good time to be quiet and attend to details. Since it is Venus the attention is usually on things close to your heart. Your love life, your home, or anything else important to you could be the focus of attention.
Combining this with the Moon in Capricorn, it seems to point to paying attention to yourself and taking care of your needs. Venus isn’t completely comfortable in Capricorn so be watchful for placing excessive demands on yourself or others.

Time to Shine

The 22nd has the Sun moving into Leo. Play, be generous, create and make things happen. This is the time of the summer harvest and all the joy that goes with it.

Indulgence

Indulgence is the name of the game when Venus is in opposition to Jupiter. This transit began on the 14th and will complete on the 30th. These two combined brings excess, in food, love and money.
It is really easy to overeat, drink and spend during this time. This is also an extremely pleasant transit bringing people together to celebrate and enjoy what life has to offer. When this alignment combines with the Sun moving into Leo, it has all the makings of a great celebration.

Social Moon

The week finishes up with the Moon moving into Aquarius on the 23rd. This is a social and friendly place for the Moon. This placement can also make emotions a little difficult to deal with. Emotions on a large scale could be a tad overwhelming. With the Full Moon falling in this sign you could become aware that there are a lot of emotions to deal with right now. You might need to put off processing some of them for a day or two. Once the Moon moves out of Aquarius it will be easier to handle them.

Mercury

Weekly Horoscope July 11th – 17th

July 8, 2021 By //  by Xander

Mercury then more Mercury

This week we start with Mercury moving into Cancer on the 11th. This placement spotlights communications with a Cancerian flair. Remember to be diplomatic and tactful. Bring the nurturing element of Cancer into your communications. Be mindful of your tone in conversations. The point is easily lost if the tone is not a match to the content.

At the same time Mercury moves into Cancer it is also semi-square to Uranus. This makes hasty judgement, irritability and sudden defiance more possible. Uranus usually brings about sudden things and here is no exception. There could be sudden interruptions of changes to plans. There is also a probability of nervous and scattered thinking. Don’t be quick to judge or jump to conclusions.

Also this aspect has a general effect of making some people more accident prone. Be mindful in your actions to avoid unnecessary injuries.

More Mercury

On the 12th Mercury is square Jupiter. Squares usually bring obstacles and difficulties to the forefront. If you have things left unfinished, they might require your attention now. It is also not a good time to sign contracts or make investments. This aspect will pass by the 17th, so putting those things off a few days would be wise.

Something other than Mercury

On the 13th the Moon moves into Virgo. This will help some of the thinking issues caused by the Mercury/Uranus aspect, but can add a tendency toward perfectionism. It is a great time to get things done, just don’t get stuck on having everything perfect.

Also. on the 13th Venus is conjunct Mars. This lasts until the 18th of the month. The action orientation of Mars applied to the planet of love can put a spark in your love life. It brings physical passion out quite strongly. Be careful of being too aggressive in new relationships. The object of your affection might prefer a lighter touch.

This aspect is also about self expression through creativity. It is a great time to flex your creative muscles and start a new project.

Moon in Libra

On the 15th the Moon moves into Libra. Pleasurable pursuits are on the agenda. Attend gatherings or host one yourself. If you are out socializing, be mindful. It is very easy to overindulge right now. Don’t do something you might regret later.

Sun trine Neptune

The Sun is trine Neptune on the 15th through the 23rd. This arouses your idealism and gives a desire to understand on a deeper level. You could be called on to help others with no benefit to yourself except the satisfaction of doing good work. Neptune is the planet of altruistic pursuits. This makes you inclined to put your own needs aside to help others.

There is also a chance of having a flash of insight or a “knowing” of some deeper truth. Be open to receive, and make time for the Universe to speak to you.

Moon in Scorpio

At the end of the week the Moon moves into Scorpio. This is a very energetic placement. It also boosts your self confidence. You have the energy to finish projects that have been hanging around.

At the same time the Sun is in opposition to Pluto. This brings up the possibility of power struggles, especially with those in authority. So even though your self confidence is great, this isn’t a good time to ask for a raise or promotion.

Pluto opposes the Sun

Pluto rules over machinery and mechanical things. The opposition to the Sun could mean things break down. If something has been limping along, it might now need to be repaired.

Pluto also rules over crime and criminals. So be careful in situations or areas where crime has a high possibility. Being careless in those areas is likely to draw unwanted attention. For those of us living outside cities, it might be a good idea to secure items normally left out or open. Lock your doors and be on the look out. Crimes of opportunity can be prevented with a small amount of action on your part.

New Additions to the Website

I have been working on ways to make these weekly write-ups more useful. So in that vein, I have added a weekly calendar to the bottom of the homepage. It gives the aspects for that day with a small description. The idea is, with a quick look you can see what is happening today. I know I have a hard time remembering what is going on each day, so this is an easier way to see. Is today a good day? A quick look can answer that for you.

For now it is in black and white. I am working on ways to make it color coded so it is even easier to get a general idea of the quality of the day.

I will also be adding a sign up area on the website. I am batting around the idea of sending out daily emails with the transits, and a short synopsis of the day. So when that is available, sign up if you want daily emails.

The third thing I have been thinking about is video. As the social media world moves more and more into video over the written word, I thought it might be time to try my hand at it. The learning curve is fairly steep for video editing software, so this one might take a little more time. I will keep you updated on the progress.

Weekly Horoscope July 4th – 10th

July 1, 2021 By //  by Xander

The moon in Gemini on the 5th brings about the desire to be social and to nurture friendships through personal interaction.  With the moon trine Pluto these interactions could be passionate and full of feelings.  This could be a very rewarding time to spend with close friends renewing bonds weakened during the pandemic seperation.  Beware of letting your mind spin on one emotion too long.  Feelings might be a little overwhelming if you focus on them too much.

Sun Sextile Uranus

On July 5th the Sun is sextile Uranus.  New experiences could come your way.  These give you greater insight into the world around you, they stimulate curiosity and your imagination.  This is a great time for creative intellectual activity.  You might be a little daydreamy so it isn’t a good time to be held tightly to schedules.  Allow your creativity to flow, there is time to get back to the grind later.

Mercury and Communication Issues

The 6th brings Mercury square to Neptune.  This is the third time this year this aspect has happened.  The planet of communication is in a challenging aspect to the planet of illusions and your own deep inner consciousness.  Misunderstandings are possible with this transit. It is also possible to fall prey to believing something that isn’t true or real.  Neptune is the planet that is responsible for the current issue with so many believing false narratives.  During this transit, it will be easy to have misunderstandings even though you thought you clarified things.  It is possible that this could lead to you being involved in situations you would rather not deal with.  The 6th isn’t a good day to finalize business dealings. Negotiations for important matters should probably wait until after the 11th when things clear a bit.

Also on the 6th we have Venus in opposition to Saturn.  This one is about relationships, and unfortunately it isn’t a warm and fuzzy aspect.  This aspect can cause a kind of “turning off” of emotions.  This can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation, self-pity can rear its head as well.  These feelings probably aren’t real and will pass quickly.  With the Mercury/Neptune aspect happening at the same time, it is possible for you to dredge up old feelings that need to be dealt with from deep in your subconscious.

Personal Growth Opportunity

This presents an opportunity to gain deeper knowledge about yourself.  Don’t indulge the feelings of self-pity and loneliness, but examine where they come from and why.  Use this transit to grow instead of indulging.  The planets are giving you an opportunity to evolve in your relationship with yourself, if you take the time to do the work.

The moon moving into Cancer on the 8th supports your inner work.  Nurture yourself, and use the loving motherly energy of Cancer to support your personal growth.  There is a New Moon on the 9th, a perfect time to begin again as the new you.

Misinformation likely to happen

There is an interesting conjunction happening for the USA from the 2nd to the 12th.  It is the annual solar return for the US.  This happens every year on our Country’s birthday.  There is also a transit aspect of the USA’s ascendant being conjunct Neptune.  This transit brings about a sense of idealism.  This is so strong that it often hides the truth.  Since we are talking about the chart of a nation I believe there will be a strong surge in nationalism around this time.  I don’t foresee any issues arising from it except that it will likely put some energy into the sectors of society that already are leaning toward a warped sense of nationalism.

There could possibly be a push of misinformation coming out.  Where information about our nation and government are concerned, don’t believe everything you hear during this transit.  Check facts yourself, don’t rely on pundits or talking heads, even those you have trusted in the past.  Things are not what they seem.

On the 13th the Moon moves into Leo bringing about a desire to be outgoing, to get out and do something.  Those with a Leo Moon will feel this more keenly than others.  Those with a Leo Sun might feel the need to shine their light on the world.  For those so inclined, step out and show the world the new you.  All that hard work on yourself deserves to be rewarded.

Opportunities for Growth

Overall this week presents great opportunities for personal growth if you take the time and put in the effort.  With the holiday at the beginning of the week, it would be easy to let this chance slide past you.  I would ask you to please take the time to do the inner work.  The pandemic has given our world the gift of introspection, even if it was forced on us.  The work isn’t complete.  Continue to make the time to finish the work.  The Universe has offered a silver lining to the great loss experienced by so many, it is up to us to make use of it.

I have been batting around the idea of doing a solar return reading for the US for its upcoming birthday.  We will see if time allows me to do that.  It is a complicated process and it takes hours to sort through the tangle of planetary interactions.  If time allows I will put one out on the 4th.

Weekly Horoscope June 26th – July 3rd

June 24, 2021 By //  by Xander

This week is quieter than it has been in a while.  I think we will all be grateful for the break, I know I am.  Things have been a little too chaotic for my taste.

On the 28th the Moon moves into Pisces.  This is a good placement for the Moon.  Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and the Moon and Jupiter get along well.  The Moon is emotional and Jupiter enhances those with its benefic presence.  This time will have you feeling good and generous toward others.  Petty irritations don’t bother you, and it might seem like everyone is just a little bit better behaved than normal.

Your heart might long for a deeper understanding of life and its meaning.  It might have you wanting to delve deeper into your own heart and mind.  This movement could also have your intuition working overtime.

Whether you feel like being out among people, or retreating at home to ponder the deeper meanings of life, you will feel good about yourself and your accomplishments.

On the 30th the Moon moves into Aries.  This is an action-oriented time.  Watch out for impulsive behavior, Aries is decisive, but can act too quickly.  Think things through.  This position could have you a little defensive, and prone to arguments, especially at home and toward strong female figures in your life.

Mars is the ruler of Aries.  When the Moon and Mars get together, small things can seem larger than they are.  You might be so hellbent on exercising your own will that you run roughshod over those you care about.

This is the perfect time to break old habits, or step out of something that hasn’t served you well.  If you need a boost of confidence, bravery, or a little extra oomph to your will to act, the Moon in Aries will certainly give you that lift.

Mars is in opposition to Saturn from the 26th of June to the 6th of July.  The exact opposition is on the 1st of July.  For Aries and Scorpios who are ruled by Mars this transit might have a greater effect than for the rest of us.  For those whose Moon is in those signs it could hit you just as hard.  This can be a strongly irritating transit.  You might be justifiably irritated and although you may not immediately act on it, the “slow burn” will eat at you.  Others might have an ability to hit you in your soft spots right now.  Or you might feel like they are purposefully punching your buttons.  It is important to calmly express how their actions have hurt you.  Holding it in will only fester over time.  Be kind, you aren’t the only one irritated right now.

This is a good time for work that requires a great concentration of energy.  This transit signals a time to finish things that are near completion, and Saturn gives you the mental clarity to accomplish that.

This transit can signal illness, so it isn’t a good time to stress your body unnecessarily.  Relax and avoid situations that cause needless anxiety.  Physical tension during this transit can be debilitating and harmful to your health.

Right on the heels of this transit is Mars square Uranus on the 3rd.  As with anything involving Mars, you might be feeling the need to rebel and push against restrictions placed on you.  This is likely to be focused on authority figures from your past and/or close relationships.  If you have the unconscious need for change then this transit could be explosive.  If you are aware of your need and already working toward change, then this could just put a little more wood in the fire to get it taken care of.

Just in time for July 4th we have the Moon moving into Taurus.  This is an excellent time to be social.  You radiate warmth and love toward others.  Go out and meet with others, have them over to your house.  This is a good time to beautify your home although you might spend more money than you intend.

This placement leans toward overindulgence, so while it is a great time to get out and about with friends and loved ones, be careful to not over do.  Enjoy yourself is the theme of this placement, so take advantage while you can.

Keep in mind the backdrop of two Mars transits lasting through the holiday.  Irritation with others could be just under the surface.  While the Moon in Taurus can help moderate the irritation, it might be best to do the planning yourself.  Having a few friends over or a BBQ in the back yard isn’t worth a battle, or the potential of getting sideways with friends and family.  Plan it yourself and let them come and enjoy the day.

Neptune

Weekly Horoscope June 20th – 26th

June 17, 2021 By //  by Xander

I want to start this week with a little-known aspect called sesquiquadrate.  It means 135° angle, a fancy word for a simple angle.  I bring this up because Mars has this aspect to Neptune starting on the 18th and becoming exact on the 24th.  I think this will affect us and be subtle, but for those more politically active, important.  Please let me explain.

Neptune is the planet for altruism, good deeds, taking care of the underdog.  Mars, as you probably already know, is the planet for action.  Some attribute it to war, but that isn’t its only meaning.  It is an active planet and when it is in aspect to other planets it creates action, things move.  This Mars/Neptune planetary period began in December of 2018 with their conjunction in Pisces and will continue until they become conjunct again in May of 2022.

This would seem to be a good thing for us at this time, except that this particular aspect usually means setbacks.  We have made a lot of progress since the conjunction, but I see a series of setbacks coming.  I don’t think they will last.  This aspect usually signals a test of the plans put into place.  It is more like a challenge to see if the plan forward is viable.

I see some pushback against progress that has been made coming up in the next few months.  Some could be serious challenges.  I do believe that the path forward will continue, although there may be some reworking of plans as flaws are discovered.  Don’t dismay, this is part of the process, and assures that progress forward is well executed.  This phase will last through the opposition of these planets, until the converse trine in late November.

Summer Solstice

On the 20th the Sun moves into Cancer.  This signals the time of equal day and night, our  June or Summer Solstice.  For those of us living in the south, this is a time when the Sun begins its slow march back toward the southern horizon.  I wish I could say that it will cool off after this time, but that isn’t the case.  The dog days of summer are just beginning for us.

I won’t do a big write up on Cancer, most people are already aware of Cancerian traits, and don’t need my two cents.  So I will just mark this occasion by saying, when the hot days are wearing on you, look at how the Sun is not exactly overhead anymore.  Maybe that will bring you hope for the cooler times coming in the fall.

Jupiter Retrograde

The other happening on that date is Jupiter begins its retrograde cycle.  This will last until October 17th.  This cycle usually represents a time for introspection and personal growth.  It is a time to take all the knowledge accumulated over the last nine months and integrate it into yourself.  Jupiter is the great benefic planet and its retrograde period is also benefic, just on a more personal level.

The 20th is an active day so we continue with the Moon moving into Scorpio.  The Moon isn’t really comfortable here.  It’s nurturing energy is in contrast to Scorpio’s more aggressive tendencies.  This could make you a little more quick tempered than usual, and in the afternoon it is possible for your mood to turn a little toward the dark side.  Be aware and conscious that you might be a little “on edge” and others might be as well.

Venus Trine Neptune

On the 21st Venus is trine to Neptune, this lasts until the 27th.  This is a rather pleasant transit although for some it could be difficult to get things done.  It has a daydream, lazy quality to it.  It is a time for great compassion, unselfish and spiritual love, and a wonderful time to share deep spirituality with your partner.  Relationships begun during this time could be very spiritual and have a “soul mate” quality, but give it time.  Neptune has an illusion quality that could make a new relationship seem deep and spiritual when in fact it isn’t.

Mercury Retrograde Is Over – Finally

The 22nd brings a day many have been waiting for.  Mercury returns to its forward movement through the cosmos.  Whew, this one was rough for more than a few of us.

That day also has the Moon moving into Sagittarius.  In contrast to the Moon in Scorpio, this one is generous, kind-hearted and sociable.  You could feel a little restless during this time, Sagittarius inclines people to want to travel and be active.  With the Moon in Sagittarius it is possible your love for travel comes to the front and you feel the urgency to get out and go somewhere.

Sun Trine Jupiter

The 23rd has a couple of interesting aspects.  The Sun is trine Jupiter as well as Venus in opposition to Pluto.  Let’s look at the Sun trine Jupiter aspect first.

This is a peaceful harmonious day for most.  The enthusiasm, and optimism of the day will help affairs work out as you want.  Because the great benefic Jupiter is involved in a harmonious aspect to the Sun this might seem like your lucky day.  It isn’t luck, but does that really matter?

Now let’s look at Venus in opposition to Pluto.  This aspect might intensify experiences in your love life.  So it might be a trying time in relationships that are already strained.  Be conscious of your relationship and act with thought toward the other person.  With a little thought and care this transit can bring about constructive positive changes.

Moon in Capricorn

Next up is the Moon moving into Capricorn on the 24th.  If your moon is well aspected by the Sun then this transit might see you in the public eye or being recognized for your contributions to the group.

This location also signals care in money matter.  Think things through carefully before spending until the 26th.  The Full Moon is also happening on the 24th giving power to these possibilities.

Neptune Retrograde

On the 25th Neptune goes retrograde.  This happens every year for 160 days.  This is usually a time of stripping away false realities.  This works in your personal life as well as the world at large.

If you have traveled very far from the truth, the shock might be alarming.  For the world, this is a time for hidden things to come to light.  I am expecting some truths to come to the surface before Neptune resumes its forward motion in December.  I spoke about this in my predictions for 2021.  Feel free to read it for more about what I see ahead.

Moon in Aquarius

To wrap up the week we have the Moon moving into Aquarius on the 26th.  This is a pretty social and agreeable place for the Moon.  It is a great time to meet up with friends and get out and about.

If your Moon is not well aspected, as is the case in Scorpio, then there could be some issues with an overwhelm of emotions that are difficult to deal with.  Reach out and seek support if needed.  This placement will have others glad to let you lean if asked.

A Close-Up Look at Jupiter's Dynamic Atmosphere

Weekly Horoscope June 13th – 19th

June 10, 2021 By //  by Xander

This week the Moon figures prominently affecting our emotions and for some, their internal security system.  As if all the celestial happenings this year haven’t been enough already.  On the 13th the Moon moves into Leo bringing about a desire to be outgoing, to get out and do something.  Those with a Leo Moon will feel this more keenly than others.  Those with a Leo Sun might feel the need to shine their light on the world.  The world is beginning to open up a little more, and our forced seclusion over the last year could heighten this desire.

Moon conjunct Mars

Before you rush out to plan an outing with friends, keep in mind that this movement is happening with a few other key celestial alignments.  The Moon is conjunct Mars at this same time, and both of them are also conjunct the Midheaven.  These other two alignments will heavily influence how this affects us.

Mars involvement will tend to make us a little more irritable than normal.  Mars also has a tendency to make trivial things seem more important than they are.

The Mid-heaven

The mid-heaven involvement can make you feel more vulnerable and have your mind focused on personal fears and petty personal motives.  Being in the sign of Leo amplifies all of this.  If you are a secure person, this won’t have much of an effect, but if you have vulnerabilities in these areas, the heavens are going to point out areas that need work.

With Mars conjunct the mid-heaven, the ego gets involved.  It can cause impulsive actions that stem purely from an egocentric place.  While this alignment is great for athletic activities and anything that requires you to be original and innovative, keep an eye on the motivation.  If the ego figures prominently things might not go as planned.

Mars is also trine Neptune until the 13th, and the Sun is square Neptune from the 13th to the 21st.  This adds to the issue of small annoyances getting blown out of proportion.  It could have a critical eye turning inward.  This isn’t a good time to make major life decisions, especially where relationships are concerned.  While leaving dirty towels on the floor might be annoying, is it really worth breaking up over?

Mercury Semisquare Mars

On the 12th Mercury came into the influence of Mars semisquare.  This becomes exact on the 15th and ends on the 20th.  Mercury being the messenger could bring a project your way that lets your intellect shine.  Be sure to check out the project thoroughly before accepting.  This aspect has associations with growth issues, so whatever you are being tasked with could have some hidden issues.  Once you look at the project completely you will be able to determine if your abilities can see it through.

Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter

On the 13th Venus begins moving into a sesquiquadrate with Jupiter that is exact on the 16th and ends on the 19th.  This transit is a good one.  It brings about favorable indulgences and things you enjoy.  This could be a romantic interest, or just staying home and spoiling yourself.  Depending on the houses in your specific chart, it can put the light of expansion (Jupiter) and love (Venus) on any part of your life.  If a new love interest pops into your life during this transit, keep in mind that it could be a fleeting infatuation, and let time tell the real tale.

Moon moves into Virgo

On the 15th the Moon moves into Virgo.  This placement shines its light on the ability to organize and gives energy to anything that requires a methodical structure, or a system of rules.  Attention to detail is the order of the day.  The moon will make this focused on the personal side of things.  If you are planning a gathering, bringing a Virgo in to help will make sure that the details are well thought out, and creature comforts are a highlight of your happening.

Moon moves into Libra

The 18th has the Moon moving into Libra.  Your focus will turn to living in peace and harmony.  This will ease the irritation from the Sun/Neptune transit and could put your focus on domestic harmony and balance.

Jupiter Retrograde

One last note.  Jupiter stations (stands still) on the 17th and begins retrograde on the 20th.  This will last until the end of October.  A key point here is retrograde motion isn’t bad.  The actual planet isn’t moving backward, only our perception of it from earth.

Jupiter retrograde is a time for inner growth and introspection.  Since Jupiter expands things, this can bring about movement in growth ventures.  Those ventures can be anything from personal growth to altruistic concerns and social consciousness.

This is happening in the sign of Pisces, moving back into Aquarius.  Jupiter in Pisces is about generosity and optimism.  Jupiter in Aquarius is idealistic and hopes for change.  We start working toward a better world.  I see this as a time for us to focus on the promise of a future with more economic equality globally.  Don’t be surprised if there are sudden shifts in global priorities toward the end of October.

The economic crisis brought about by Covid isn’t over, and world leaders will be forced to deal with the longer term economic repercussions when both Saturn and Jupiter begin their forward march through the sky again in late October.
