Law of Attraction Myths – Myth #1

June 4, 2019 By //  by Xander

Thoughts Become Things

While this is technically true the reality is, it doesn’t’ really work this way. This is a gross oversimplification of the process that also leads to great frustration and eventual disillusionment for many.

We as humans typically can’t hold a thought for enough time or with enough focus to actually have it manifest itself. It is just the nature of being human.

The truth is, If your mind is quieted through meditation or another means and you hold the thought for longer than 60 seconds, it begins to solidify. It can also solidify if you keep coming back to it.

As it begins to solidify it attracts other similar thoughts and emotions. Over time it turns into a belief or thinking habit. Once that happens it starts changing your perception of reality. Thus it starts directing your words and actions.

If you can align your thoughts, words and actions to a reality you prefer then you have a good chance of experiencing it.

The only way a single thought manifests immediately is if you are on a higher plane yourself, or solicit the help of those who are on a higher plane, IE: prayer or other entreaties. Even with prayer, the odds of instant manifestation are remote. It is my personal belief that those who listen to our prayers take a wait and see attitude with humans. We tend to flit about with our wants and desires, it is probably in their best interest to wait it out and see how serious we are.

Now having spoken about how I personally believe this works I want to expand on this a little further. Anything we focus on repeatedly or for long periods of time can and will begin to solidify – ANYTHING. This means we must be impeccable with our thoughts or we risk manifesting the things we don’t want as much as the things we do. If you fill your day with, I hate my job or my life sucks, then that will manifest just as easily, or perhaps easier, than, I want to win the lotto. Our deep feelings about ourselves also influence what can and does manifest. If you don’t feel you are worthy of winning the lotto, even on a subconscious level, then you won’t be able to manifest that, but you will manifest being poor and staying poor.

Changing our deep subconscious programming takes time. It takes practice and devotion. I think it is fairly safe to say that most of us have some inner voices that tell us things that’s aren’t positive. Those voices must be addressed and worked out or they will be the louder manifesting voice.

How we identify ourselves contributes to our overall success in manifestation. If you identify yourself as poor, then you will be. If you are unworthy, then you will be. If you are sick, then you will be. Think about it, what do you identify with? How often do you say, I have x condition or I grew up poor, or even bad things always seem to happen to me. You may not realize it, but you are manifesting those things. Thank you to my wife for pressing me on this point until it finally sunk in.

Change isn’t easy and changing your core being is harder still. To use an example from AA. Take it one day at a time. Today I will be happy, today I will be positive, today I will feel worthy of love, wealth or whatever it is you want. Then tomorrow do it again. If you slip, just start over. In time those small changes will make a difference. You might not notice it at first but it will build until you do.

One other important thing, and probably harder than the first step is, separating yourself. If you hang out with a group of people that reinforce those old thoughts, STOP. Don’t go to lunch and bitch with your coworkers, don’t hang out with your friends and complain. Change your surroundings to a more positive environment that reinforces where you are heading, not where you have been.

I am not saying we will all win the lotto, if it was that easy I wouldn’t be writing this blog. I would be on vacation somewhere exotic spending my millions. I will say that with practice you will notice a change. The flowers might be a little prettier, the sun a little brighter or your job not quite as much of a burden. Small steps will get you to your destination as sure as big ones, and they are easier to make.
